Registration FAQ

Can I register without purchasing hotel along with registration?

We highly encourage all attendees to stay in the hotel for the conference. We believe the only way to fully experience all the conference has to offer is to stay in the hotel. It gives you a chance to mingle with other participants, and it provides easy access to all of our events – the workshops are in the hotel and our social events all begin in the hotel. Furthermore, our contract with Hotel Pennsylvania requires a significant number of attendees to live on site. This contract has allowed us to significantly lower the price of a room to be much cheaper than you can find anywhere else!

Can we choose our own roommates in the hotel?

There will be a field when you register where you can indicate up to three (3) roommates who are also attending the conference! You can also leave that field blank, and we will pair you with new friends!

What if I make my own living arrangements and just show up the day of?

Since we have a high expected attendance, Hotel Pennsylvania will provide extra security to ensure that only registered attendees get access to the conference program! Make sure you properly register and check in properly to participate! If you have family or friends you would like to stay with, email us at info@nyc2013.itasa.org. We will evaluate your situation on a case-by-case basis. Again, you will have a much better experience if you chose to stay in the hotel!

But what if I go to school in New York City?

We still encourage you to stay in the hotel if you are interested, but hotel stay is waived for New York City students. Please email us at info@nyc2013.itasa.org with your .edu email address belonging to an NYC school. We will provide you a unique link to register alternatively. Please note that you must present a valid school ID upon arriving at the hotel.
